Visitors and locals, both familiar faces and newcomers, gathered on October 7th for our first bird tour of the season. The day blessed us with fantastic weather setting the stage for a display of endemic and migratory birds. Our knowledgeable guides, Dick May and Pete Donaldson, led the way offering captivating insights into Hawaii’s birds and the rich history of James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge.
Excitement is building in anticipation of the incoming albatross population, as they prepare to nest within the refuge in the coming weeks. Join us to be a part of the experience every Saturday until February as we synchronize ourselves with the natural rhythms of the avian world at James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge. Aloha!
