Friends of Oahu NWR is looking for volunteers to help us set up a dedicated schedule for assisting refuge staff in taking care of our native Hawaiian plants and seedlings, and to begin more planting at the James Campbell greenhouse. It's our goal to help support James Campbell and the US fish and wildlife's mission through volunteers and donations. Over the next few months a new greenhouse will be assembled in partnership with another agency. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the plant and animal habitat restoration on Oahu.
As a volunteer, you will help with tasks such as:
* Watering and fertilizing plants
* Weeding and pest control
* Potting and transplanting plants
* Preparing plants for outplanting
* Maintaining the greenhouse
We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about native Hawaiian plants and who are willing to commit to a regular schedule. Minimal gardening experience is necessary.
